The Edge Café is Cambridge’s recovery hub; a community café with a recovery heart. We are a social enterprise providing opportunities and peer support to people in recovery from substance misuse and/or mental ill health. We are open to the public and to the community, playing host to live events, workshops, exhibitions and damn good coffee (cake and tea are pretty fab too).
We are looking for artists who wish to exhibit their work in a vibrant café environment. Each exhibiting artist adorns the walls for one month, with their work playing a large part in how customers experience the café and the project’s overall aesthetic. It’s important stuff, and we need beautiful things and beautiful people to make it happen.
Across the month of exhibition, we invite the exhibiting artist to curate an element of the café’s what’s on programme in collaboration with The Edge. This can be a workshop, talk or live event that relates to the themes of your work – we’re open to ideas! The most important thing is that it’s open to all, and adds value to The Edge as a hub for the community. We’d also fully support you to host a private view to launch the exhibition.
To apply, please send a short paragraph about yourself, what medium you work in, examples of your work (attach or link), and a short paragraph about what the word “recovery” means to you.
To submit, please drop us an email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
If you wish to offer for sale your exhibited work please read our terms and conditions in our Edge Artists Agreement.
